Hunting Buddies

My favorite person to hunt with is my old man. He knows every trick in the book. This picture was taken in the middle of archery season. We were just heading out for the afternoon hunt.

These are some of my other archery buddies, Eric and Jamie. The trail camera got us in this picture when we hiked back to check the cameras.

Trail Camera, Next years wall hangings

This is my buck! We nick-named him "touchdown". Its a 6x5 with close to a 32 inch spread. I've been watching him for 2 years. And the first year I had him at 40 yards but 2 other bucks were between me and him. This year he's gonna be on my wall.

This year we caught 8 different bears on a regular basis on the cameras... This was one of the bigger ones.

The closer buck in this picture is touch-down, but in the back of the picture is another 6x5. His antlers arent as wide, but he's a mile high.

This is one of the 6x6 bulls. There were 5 6x6's that we saw about once a week. But they were tricky, they would never cross the cameras so we dont have any really good pictures. But this one was a monster. He was really tall and wide. Hopefully this year he has a little bit more mass. If you look close you can see his long eye cards sticking through the front of the tree.

Salmon Trip 08'

From head on this buck looked like a monster. Come to find out.... It was just one big ass 2 point!

This trip was really cool because both of us bagged bucks the same day. And it was the first one Eric had ever gotten. By the look on his face you'd think he was a pro!

Salmon trip 08'

This trip we packed way back in, and hiked up to the rock cliffs and slides to find the big bucks. And on our way up Justin spotted this black bear on the opposite mountain. We hit him wit the range finder at 418 yards. He came down hill about 10 yards and stopped at a berry bush, and i took my shot!

After the bear was down, Eric headed back to camp and Justin and I started our hike up to the bear. We drug the bear back down to the bottom and met Eric with the pack. I loaded the bear onto my pack and carried him back toward camp. After about an hour i sat down to take a break and saw some big horn sheep jumping around on some rocks, so i got my binoculars out to look at the rams, and noticed a buck bedded down in the grass. 15 minutes later Justin and Eric caught up and Justin took the kill. We were about 5 minutes away from the tent.

Salmon 07'

This is the 07' Salmon trip. We packed back in a ways, and this was the only buck we saw. We were there for 4 days, and we took him on the last day. My hunting buddies Eric Justin helped
spot him.
The smiles stayed on their faces til' we started the 10 hour pack out!
